The brief
Ahead of the 2025 budget, UKHospitality, the leading voice for the UK’s hospitality sector, faced an urgent need to drive decisive, localised engagement with Members of Parliament (MPs) to support its crucial #TaxedOut budget campaign.
The sector has been facing immense financial pressure. Recent figures show that 89,000 jobs have been lost since the 2024 budget, and one-third of all hospitality businesses are running at a loss.
To revive the industry and secure its future, UKHospitality needed to transform their policy goals into easily actionable messages for MPs and government. The core policy asks included:
- Lower business rates to revive high streets.
- Fix National Insurance Contributions (NICs) to boost job creation.
- Cut VAT on hospitality services to drive investment and growth.
The Solution
To ensure maximum impact, UKHospitality leveraged Polimapper’s Email Stakeholder functionality to run three targeted projects simultaneously, ensuring every constituent could speak directly to their MP.

The Impact

During the #TaxedOut campaign, UKHospitality recorded:
- 1,500+ letters were written directly to MPs.
- 100 subsequent member meetings were held with MPs, establishing critical face-to-face dialogue.
- More than 4,000 pieces of media coverage were generated, raising the profile of the policy asks nationally.
- 40,000 people engaged directly with the campaign across social media platforms.
